Nick and Jennie have been dating since they were 18 years old. They first met each other in senior year of high school. They stayed together through long-distance college years and new challenges of young professional lifestyles. They celebrated the eigth year of their long distance relationship with even bigger news: an engagement!
Nick and Jennie made our team fall in love with their love story. They would like to incorporate “Cherry Blossom” and “Washington DC” themes into their photographs. The theme originated from the couple’s story: he gave her cherry blossom scented lotion during college and decided to propose just prior to the cherry blossom season. To symbolize their memories, the ao dai she wore in this photo session is also pink, just like the flower’s color.
For Nick and Jennie’s engagement photography session, we wanted to break the ice because neither one of them had any professional portrait done before. And of course, we set out to capture the genuine emotions and chemistry between Nick and Jennie in the midst of the usual Cherry Blossom Festival. Knowing our challenges, our portrait session was scheduled very early in the morning, during peak bloom of the beautiful cherry blossom season at the Tidal Basin.
